Available Guinea Pigs

Adoption Policy »
  1. Before applying, review the page about appropriate CAGES (click here) . It is very important to us that your guinea pig has a proper size cage!
  2. We do NOT SHIP guinea pigs. You must be able to come to us for the adoption.
  3. We do NOT ADOPT to minors. Heads-of-household only can apply to adopt. Please do not apply to adopt if you are a minor living with your parents.
  4. We do NOT ADOPT to people who have other pets living outdoors (with the exception of horses and other farm animals).
  5. Review important guinea pig DIET information: What to Feed Your Guinea Pig.
  6. We have a "pairs policy". If you own a guinea pig, we are happy to help you find a compatible friend amongst ours. If you don't own a guinea pig, you may adopt a bonded pair or create a pair from our single guinea pigs. When you don't already own a guinea pig, we highly recommend adopting one of our bonded pairs - that way you know you have a pair that gets along, and won't run the risk of them not getting along once you get them home.

Fees »

Fees as of Jan 1, 2019

  • $65 per neutered male guinea pig
  • $80 per spayed female guinea pig
  • $110 for bonded pairs (Pairs listed on the site together)
  • Unlike some other rescue groups, all of our guinea pigs are spayed/neutered and have been to a vet for a checkup prior to adoption. While the adoption fee helps to cover some of the vet costs, our expenses far exceed the adoption fees. Click Here to see why we feel that spaying/neutering our guinea pigs is so important. Not only does it control the guinea pig population, there are definite health benefits.
  • A contract must be signed at adoption time

Notice about adopting female guinea pigs:There is currently a higher demand for spayed, female guinea pigs than availability. There may be up to a two month waiting period after submitting an application. We are limited by which guinea pigs are available in the local shelters and availability of foster homes. We appreciate your patience when adopting.

    Type: White & Red agouti/Crested
    Age: 11 Months
    Altered:Spayed

Osgood is a member of the LA400, and is ready to find her forever home. She's s very sweet girl, the kind who enjoys snuggling in your fleece jacket, sitting in your lap, and hanging out while you read a book, especially if you give her head rubs. When she feels safe, she'll relax and enjoy floor time, even popcorn. She feels safer with something over her head, a person she trusts, or a brave guinea pig friend. However, she is still very shy and skittish. She startles very easily at unfamiliar and sudden noises that are normal to us, like a video or music starting to play, or the ringtone on your phone. When this happens she sometimes panics and bolts, so it's very important to make sure that she doesn't fly off a high surface or try to jump out of the cage! She also sometimes appears to be nervous and out of sorts for reasons that are not obvious to us, and may chubble or behave a little oddly with other guinea pigs. For these reasons we recommend a quiet home without children under 12, and preferably an experienced and patient person.

I'm a funny happy little boy. I love to run loops around my cage and I LOVE to climb on top of my hut. If you adopt me, it is imperative that I have a wooden hut or something similar to climb on as I spend a lot of time surveying my surroundings up there. I'm a good eater and I love my ears scratched.

Stevie Nips and Siouxsie Sioux are now accepting applications for a permanent chaos coordinator. Applicants must have prior experience with guinea pigs and no children under the age of 12 in the home. They have a very limited veggie diet which must be strictly followed due to digestive difficulties. While they are getting better at being handled, they are still extremely skittish and need a patient, calm, and experienced handler. Stevie Nips kisses with teeth but is becoming more gentle as she grows up. These girls are very fun and love zoomies, hay, and jumping on top of things for a better look at the world. If you just don’t have enough very cute sass in your life, apply for this bonded pair today!
