Interested in Fostering?

It is the responsibility of Metropolitan Guinea Pig Rescue (“MGPR”) to offer for adoption healthy, socialized guinea pigs to the extent possible. To this end, foster families are expected to provide regular socialization and to use supplies in accordance with the guidelines established by the rescue, including brands of food and bedding, and the provision of fruits, vegetables, and hay.


Please answer the following questions to apply to foster a MGPR guinea pig.

NOTE: MGPR is a Virginia based organization and considers only to those living in the District of Columbia, Delware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. MGPR reserves the right to decide which locations in these states are too far from the organization's base for an applicant to be considered for fostering.
 










 
 
MGPR accepts guinea pigs from a variety of shelters, in all states of health and socialization – ranging from friendly and healthy to unsocial and critically ill. MGPR wants your foster care experience to be a comfortable and positive one. We will make the best match possible for you, your family members, your lifestyle, and your environment. If you are interested in fostering a special needs animal, we will provide you with the required support.
MGPR will provide all vet care for the foster guinea pig(s) through the approved veterinarians.
