Adoption Policy and Information:

Before applying, review the page about appropriate CAGES (click here) It is very important to us that your guinea pig has a proper size cage!
We do NOT SHIP guinea pigs. You must be able to come to us for the adoption.
We do NOT ADOPT to minors. Heads-of-household only can apply to adopt. Please do not apply to adopt if you are a minor living with your parents.
We do NOT ADOPT to people who have other pets living outdoors (with the exception of horses and other farm animals).

Adoption Fees and Information

$45 per neutered male guinea pig
$60 per spayed female guinea pig
Unlike some other rescue groups, all of our guinea pigs are spayed/neutered and have been to a vet for a checkup prior to adoption. While the adoption fee helps to cover some of the vet costs, our expenses far exceed the adoption fees. Click Here to see why we feel that spaying/neutering our guinea pigs is so important. Not only does it control the guinea pig population, there are definite health benefits.
A contract must be signed at adoption time

Notice about adopting female guinea pigs: There is currently a higher demand for spayed, female guinea pigs than availability. There may be up to a two month waiting period after submitting an application. We are limited by which guinea pigs are available in the local shelters and availability of foster homes. We appreciate your patience when adopting.

Valentina is a very sweet girl who came into our rescue very shortly before giving birth on February 13th, hence her sweet name. She is a little shy but still very interested in everything that is going on around her. Update: Brindy has become a total cuddle pig, but that doesn't stop her from loving floortime too! She is a very sweet and active piggy. She has a very type A personality. Interested in learning Koogan's bluff? He's a sensitive guy! He loves his brother very much and can't stand to have him out of his sight. (For all you movie buffs, that's why our Koogan is special and spelled with a K instead of a C!) Angus, a beautiful Self Black/Chocolate boy, is a true snuggle bug and loves to be cuddled. Both are very inquisitive and love to explore. They love their fresh veggies and will give you reminders each time you open the fridge door! These boys are very active and may not be well suited to a family with very young children. They can be adopted singly as a companion to your female, or adopted together, but neither can be adopted as solo pigs.

Star is a beautiful, multicolored Abbysinian who came to MGPR still nursing her two babies, Leon and Michelle. Star loves to romp in the grass with her two babies, and is happy to eat most anything you give her. At first she was a bit shy, but has grown more and more calm, allowing the adoring neighborhood children to pet her. Ideally, she would be adopted out with Michelle, but at the very least as one of a pair.

What a sweet face on this little girl. Those little pig lips look like shes just been nibbling on a powdered sugar confection. Cali has markings much like a calico cat. She also looks totally different from each side. She likes to play with her cage mate Fudge and just adores the rattle of veggie bags. This sweet young girl needs a forever home with a piggy to play with as well as a human or two to fall in love with.
